Resolving Theft Cases Inside Your Establishment

By Waydo A Narte

We haven't had a case of theft within our wine and liquor shop since we first opened shop. However there is always a first time. I informed my spouse that we needed miniature spy cameras, just in case, so we got some.

Monitoring cameras are convenient for keeping track of a certain location. This can be for security or just monitoring people, such as your kids at home.

My wife chose a board camera, which is just a basic fixed lens mounted on a circuit board. Board cameras are usually set up inside dome cameras, small video cameras or hidden cams, but you can likewise buy a board video camera to make your own covert camera, just like we did.

Hidden cameras are surveillance cams hidden in regular items such as home appliances or containers, so you can keep track of someone without being spotted.

A board camera's lens may be a pinhole lens or a full opened one. Pinhole lens cameras are normally called spy cameras, and these are what hidden video cameras commonly use. Board camera lenses are pre-mounted, having a set iris. These are normally wide-angle lenses because of their short focal length.

Our own high-resolution color CMOS video camera with audio is a small, high-resolution, complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) video camera. It fits closely the image quality of charged-couple device (CCD) video cameras but at just half their size. It was my wife who told me all this and, considering that she's the camera buff, I have faith in her judgment.

Cardboard bins that contained wine bottles now make a wonderful hiding location for our surveillance video cameras. We just cut a little hole for the lens. The boxes sit on a shelf in which the video cameras have an awesome view of store activity.

Up to now, no person has swiped something from our store racks. However if someone ever does, our own miniature spy cameras up on the shelf will catch him on video, making sure that he won't get away with it. And he won't ever know exactly how we found out.
