Coloring your Sales

By Meagan Connelly

The concept of eCommerce design more often than not will rely on your ability to coordinate colors within your specific project. Though choosing your own favorite colors might be tempting, you should consider that the professionals use very specific colors for a very good reason.

While some colors promote a sense of community, others convey more of a sexual massage. Still there are others that promote happiness while others try to identify with nature. Black and red, for example are common colors on adult ecommerce web design. Such colors represent sex, excitement, and of course seduction. In an adult site, these are necessary emotions, but you could be in a different business, and you will need to consider different colors.

A health food website might just be your optimal choice. If your goal is to make the potential customers feel special, then it would be a good idea to work the color purple into the mix somewhere. At this moment, you might be wondering why these colors relate to your company. In most cases the colors do not relate to your product, but the reactions of the human mind can be quite interesting. When you are building a website you will get one of two messages across to your clients. You will either show the customer that you know what you're doing, or you will show them that you do not know how to build a website properly.

Before you actually launch your website you will want to take a look at the layout and ensure the right color palette is being used. This may seem like a waste of time, and you might get bored with it, but being able to effectively mix the colors properly will get you the results you need.

When you are working on your
ecommerce design, first impressions are critical, and with that in mind, you may want to let a few people look at your site before it goes live. Unless you have an exceptional product, there is a strong chance that your potential customers will not return to your website once it makes a bad impression on them. That being said, it would be in your best interest to do some research and learn which colors would go well with your particular business. Remember that you might want to use more than one color, especially if you want conversions. Different color combinations might need to be used, but once you do some research, you will probably find that you can easily draw customers in. You will find the tasks color can accomplish to be mind blowing, and though getting started might be a chore, the colors will push your company to the next level.
