Tactics Used For Workplace Bullying

By Chris McArdle

Workplace bullying is an unreasonable behavior that makes employees uncomfortable. This is termed as unethical behavior and is punishable in all organizations. People that humiliate others in the working places use different tactics. Tactics are the methods used by bullies to intimidate others in organizations. There are a lot of methods that helps in determining whether a certain behavior is a bully or not.

Unethical behavior in an organization is repeated hurtful attacks from people in the organization. Some of the bullying behavior includes changing work tasks and making them more difficult for employees to handle. This involves doubling the work done by workers without raising their salaries. This is a problem that demotivates a lot of people in organizations.

It is the work of the management to give strict rules on such behavior. They do this by writing a list of all behaviors that are unacceptable in a given organization. They also give the actions that will be taken if a certain behavior occurs in the organization. Majority of organizations couch employees on bullying behaviors.

Other behaviors that make people uncomfortable are rumors and gossips in the organizations. People that want to intimidate others spread false information about others to tarnish their names. The rumors spread may be either organizational or personal issues outside the organization. This is a way of bullying workers in organizations.

Corporate restructuring is another cause of organizational tormenting. The structure of an organization can contribute much to animosity among workers. This is associated with angers resulting from demotions and promotions in an organization. The status of employees in an organization can also lead to inappropriate behaviors in the organization.

Another type is the threat to personal standing. This is whereby someone undermines the integrity of another. Insults and inappropriate jokes are also grouped in this type of behavior. When people criticize and call others names this is seen as a threat to ones personal standing.

Another tactic used for workplace bullying is lying about an evolution process. This is whereby people give false reports on other peoples work. All these tactics should be checked well in all organizations to ensure that people do not accuse others.
