How To Decrease Mistakes In Your Internet Business

By Dan Vlady

It does seem that the only way you really learn about a web marketing business is by doing your fair share of mistakes. As you read this, perhaps you are thinking that you only care about yours and how you feel about it. You may find that you are quite talented at making costly mistakes, but don't dwell on that. If it is any measure of consolation, your mistakes will decrease the longer you stay in it. Serious web marketers read things in articles like these and then vow to never make these mistakes.

A lot of marketers can become afraid to do anything because they want to avoid mistakes and that is not a wise choice.

Testing in your IM business is critical if you want to rise above the rest and be profitable. We have talked about the value of using tracking scripts, and this is one of the most important uses of them. You know what testing means, and it's just making very educated trial runs for something different.

Even at the time of this article's writing, there are very well known marketers trying to sell black hat methods of earning backlinks to others. Of course, the first Panda update happened a year ago. You're capable of making your own decisions, obviously, but using low quality backlinks isn't going to do anything to help your business. Google is being ferocious about hitting low value backlinks very hard. Obviously, people do this to save time with their backlinking, but this approach has nothing to do with time savings. Beyond this, social media and sharing is clearly the trend for future SEO. So, really, the smart thing to do is to take advantage of this trend while it is happening.

What you want to avoid in your IM business is making as few mistakes as possible. Also, how you approach what you do with your attitudes has an effect, too. The thing about this is to avoid letting mistakes set you back too much. Just don't let yourself become paralyzed and afraid to make a mistake.
