They give consumers greater satisfaction, specially when waiting on a wind swept stand or sheltering to get a bus. Parcel delivery and taxi cab collection is less of a lotto, as despatch locations know exactly where their particular cars are located and can advise clients accordingly. During emergency times, GPS is extremely helpful in locating and rescuing passengers of a car.

A lot of GPS services have software that tracks the location based on satellite data. This can give information to the user such as the speed, the direction and even the fuel consumption. If there is no signal available, the GPS can revert to passive data which continuously records and resend when the signal is within range. It makes life for managers easier and realize savings in the long run.

With regards to the public transport system, the GPS tracking system are fitted on terminals to give passengers on the expected arrival times which can ease up crowded stations. Passengers can follow its progress and can cue their departure in an organized, time saving manner.

The commercial benefits are plainly clear and any business that employs large numbers of automobiles can cheaply and just manage their own use. Real time locations make companies more efficient, more responsive and more prepared for adjustments in demand. It provides a simple way to organize routes and dispatch, GPS gives managers more level of control and supervision on their fleets.

No matter how a business utilizes its cars the inclusion of GPS provides added value, customer happiness and saves income. As the market changes, technology enables businesses to response on the ever changing market demands. The ability to access workforce data in real time can give businesses a more competitive edge. There are other ways GPS tracking can be used for optimum results, such as giving tourist a welcome as they arrive, taxis can serve their customer better as they can respond immediately, and rental cars can recover unreturned vehicles. There are still other uses that are not discussed here, but one thing is clear, GPS vehicle tracking helps in increasing productivity hence increasing the company's profit margin.
