3 Marketing Methods To Help Expand A Small Business

By Curtis Bowyer

Running out of small business marketing ideas is not something that you are ever going to have to worry about. There are already so many different well known techniques that you can try and it's possible to spend giant chunks of time reading all about them. Let's not forget that individual creativity will always produce even more methods. Marketing is also really powerful--which is something that business professionals who are experienced and well informed already understand. You can dress up a poor product in slick marketing and make a lot of money. We have all seen those moments of marketing failure when, due to a lack of marketing, a really great product fails to make any money.

Undoubtedly, you probably have something else you can promote to your clients on the backend. In case you don't know, your customers are your best prospects. Consider they are your warm prospects because they've already done business with you. These people will be more open to your offers, especially if you offered excellent value and service. But the key here is to avoid spoiling the relationship with poor offers. This approach applies to both online and offline businesses, as it's been used in the real world successfully for years. There is plenty of evidence - decades worth - to show that direct mail offers can be highly successful.

As you do this, make sure that you've already completely conquered your local market. Perhaps you can provide something to your local government. This isn't a "quick fix" but it might be if you feel comfortable being slightly aggressive and taking genuine action. Millions of business all throughout the United States still don't have websites or web presences. If you are a part of this group it's likely that you either believe that websites are superfluous or you just don't want to put one up. If you have room in your day to do more business, the most important thing you can do is build a website and start some locally based marketing. There are plenty of great reasons to put up a site for your business. Did you know that the business site you create can double as a sort of business card? If you also have traditional business cards, it's possible to put your own domain on to them. You can also optimize for local search engines so that you can be tracked down within your local town or city. Then, people can look over the marketing you've created to pre-sell your services and products and make their own calls.

One important example is your contact page--make sure it has your phone number printed on it. And you can even optimize calling by using a link that will call with a single click. Clicking to call is a smart phone feature and it will encourage people to call.

Create a marketing plan if you don't have one and it doesn't need to be elaborate. Just make sure you write out enough plans for the year so that you have motivation for expanding your marketing and that you will always be working. Don't forget that finding new techniques, opportunities and inspirations is incredibly common as you continue to work.
