On the other hand, this great quality and flair come at a costly price. One of these precious items may cost up to about a whole years salary for a middle income earner. This is why many people shy away from ever owning one.

These gadgets are a preserve for the rich, the famous and the powerful in society. They are produced in limited supply to create a demand for them. Here it is a play of the demand supply rule. From the craftsmanship to the designs to distribution, it is all geared towards ensuring the price remains ridiculously high.

They have extraordinary features such as some have two way radios, some can locate the GPRS of the wearer whereas some have writs mounted computers. Apart from the face value, a person acquires a status symbol and an ego boost. This is why women guide books say look at a mans wrist and you will know what kind of person he is.

This lavish time gadget serves its wearer for decades and enhances a persons look. Some luxury watches have historic value. Examples of these time gadgets are Rolex, Cartier, Omega, Breitling, Patek Philipe, Panerai and Tag Heuer.
