The Do's & Don'ts Of Maintaining Truck Wraps

By Robin Setser

Even though truck wraps can provide ample success on the marketing front, there is a level of care that they require as well. This is where maintenance comes into play, which can be done in both simple and more intricate ways. How can the maintenance in question be carried out, you may wonder? For those who own these wraps and would like them to last as long as possible, here are a few of the do's & don'ts that you should know.

DO utilize certain fluids for cleaning. Truck wraps entail a certain level of care, which starts with the fluids that are used the most. For those who do not know, rubbing alcohol and cool water work well, with the latter being used after the former. This will help to keep your graphics looking as best as they can. Even though this is just one of many steps to follow, it's still nothing short of important to keep your wares looking the best they can.

DON'T implement any old rag. Once you have the right fluids set in place, you have to make sure that other products are used as well. Truck wraps seem to take well to soft cloths, since their fibers do not hinder the materials that companies such as JMR Graphics utilize. In order to keep these graphics looking as spotless as possible, you have to know that the right cloth can make all of the difference in the world.

DO clear any stains the moment you see them. If you look up stains online - and I'm sure that those in Long Island SEO can agree - you'll know that they become more difficult to clean the longer they're allowed to linger. What this means is that you have to be able to clean them as soon as they show up, using materials like the ones discussed earlier. By doing so, you won't have to worry as much about your truck wraps becoming unsightly.

DON'T forget to read the labels. When shopping for products to keep your wraps looking clean, understand that most of them will come with warning labels. These will tell you what they should or shouldn't be used on, meaning that you should observe every last detail. By doing so, you can make an educated decision as to whether it can be used or if it's best kept on the store shelf for someone else to purchase.
