How To Keep The Pool Clean Between Pool Service Palm Springs Visits In Your Home

By Gregory Bell

Most of the pools get dirty as soon as the maintenance team leaves the site. Most people rarely do any cleaning on their pools and wait for the next visit to have it cleaned. However, small maintenance procedures help maintain the water clean, clear and free of odor. Here are some basic maintenance activities between visits by the pool service Palm Springs technicians.

You will find many fallen leaves and sticks during the fall season. Some of these leaves will end up on the swimming pool. The insects tool fall on the surface of the water. Skim regularly by the use of skimming bucket or just a net that has been attached to a long wooden handle. Most of this debris will sink if it is not skimmed regularly.

Drain the water every fourteen or so days and vacuum the floor. The sides should also be scrubbed to rid of calcium deposits and algae that grow on the sides. Scrub the sides by use of hard bristles. However, if the walls are made of fiberglass, use soft bristles to prevent damage by scratching the surface.

On emptying the pool, ensure that the filter is checked before refilling. The filter blocks lots of debris and sediments. With time, the dirt accumulates and ultimately blocks the entry. Some filters can be cleaned while other types may require replacement. Have the professional cleaners handle the replacement if you find it hard to replace the filter.

If you have heating equipment, check if there is any accumulation of calcium in the tubing and piping to the pipe. The deposits narrow the pipes and make the equipment to work harder in order to heat the water. The heating systems should be detached and kept away during the cold season to prevent the ice from damaging the equipment.

Human skin releases ammonia as a waste material. When swimming, ammonia that is excreted from the body reacts with nitrogen to produce chlorine gas. Chlorine gas is a pungent smelling gas that makes the swimming uncomfortable. To deal with the smell, you should add super-chlorinate chemical. This raises the levels of chlorine to suppress the pungent smell.

The ideal water pH is between 7 and 8. You may buy a pH meter from the household stores to check the pH. If the pH is more than 8, add an acidic solution to bring it to the right PH. Add an alkaline solution to water that is less than a pH of 7 to neutralize the acidity.

Ensure that those that would like to swim bathe before entering the pool. This reduces the body wastes left in the water. If you maintain your pool regularly, you can space the professional cleanings for a longer time and pay less for the service. This also keeps the facility in a usable state until it is serviced again. Pick a reputable professional cleaner to handle the servicing so that it is done well and professionally.
