Barbecue And The The Best Flavors Of Its Basting Sauce

Whether a meat has to be grilled, fried or roasted, basting it before cooking improves its tastes as well as texture. This method has been widely practiced by almost all people as this gives a delicious flavor to the meat. When having a barbecue party, it is very important to have or make the best BBQ basting sauce. True enough, there are a lot of different procedures and ingredients when it comes to basting.

Basting is often considered to be a cooking technique that can be done before or during cooking. If it is done beforehand, that is called marinating. This is the process of having the meat dipped all over the mixture within twenty four hours. It mixture often is not that complicated and is only made up of vinegar, some seasonings and soy sauce.

There are many good thing brought by marinating raw flesh. It improves the taste since the flavor is absorbed. It also tenders the texture of the meat making it very easy to cook and even very desirable to eat. Though when mixing up the components, extra careful in choosing it for it can cause the meat to dry up as well and it would be hard to chew on.

Often times basting is also done while grilling or roasting. That goes same with barbecue though the blending can also be called mop sauce because barbecue mop is used commonly instead of basting mop. This barbecue mop is used to rub on the surface of meat with the blended mix while doing the grill.

If the raw meat is not marinated but instead is rubbed with powdered seasonings and using the barbecue mop would wipe off the powder, better use a spray bottle. Although when using such, the spices and herbs has to be grounded very well. If not, it would stuck on the spray tube, using warm water to have it completely mixed may help.

There are a lot of spices that may be added when making a condiment but not all are as complementary and would taste great. Cumin powder is one of the stuff that can be added on the mixture. It has great aroma and adds volume on the flavor.

A slight amount of brown sugar is also adds a sweet and salty flavor on the mixture. This controls the saltiness of blended mix. The contrast between the two distinct taste is great flavoring to the barbecue. It would be better to add few chili powder or depends on how spicy it is that is desired.

Oregano or mint is good in removing the unpleasant odor. For the base flavor, Worcestershire sauce can be perfectly used. This is known to bring good flavor in foods since it is an ingredient when making umami.

Paprika and Cayenne pepper are the best to finish the entire mix. This could add sweet taste but very subtle and a variety of hot savor at the same time. Paprika also got warm aroma. To perfectly have everything blended, make sure to add enough amount of water only, not any less and not any more.
