There is no fixed timing as to how regular one will be taking their car for this service. The time depends on some factors including the model of the car and the even how One uses their engines. For most old models one can take their car for it after one year or after a millage of about 1200. With most modern models, one can safely take their vehicles after two years or after a millage of 3000.

The is a possibility that one perform this service on their own without having to pay a mechanic. The necessary equipment and the components can easily be bought. There are also manuals that come in hand with the accessories to aid in doing the job. Some shop invite clients to their workshops to come and learn.
