Being able to keep up a good feminine hygiene is the responsibility of every person especially the ladies. Being clean gives a good impression to the people that are around you, and it also provides a feeling of security allowing you to move freely. However, if you do not know of the products to use, it will be hard for you to maintain your hygiene. A menstrual cup, or a pad or a tampon will help you keep clean at all times.

If you manage to go through your periods without causing any leakage, then you will have maintained your health. To achieve this first, you need to know of the right product to use depending with the slow that you have and ensure that the product does not overstay since it is only when full that it is likely to cause leakage.

The cup is one of the many products that women and girls can use during that time of the month. To be able to use it, one needs to fold it, attach it in the vagina and then open it so that it can collect the menstrual liquid. The product is easy to use since if well inserted then one has to wait when full to empty it. Note that it might take eight hours or more to fill the cup; this depends on your flow. Note that even for those with a light period; they should not leave the cup unchanged for over 12 hours.

There is a product that holds the blood in the vagina before it gets to the body and this is the tampon. Some prefer the non-applicator one as it does not produce a lot of waste while there are those that fancy the applicator since one does not have to touch their vagina more than necessary. Regardless of the one you like, the secret is making sure that you change it before it gets full and can no longer absorb any blood.

Reusable tampons better known as sponges are alternatives that can be used. They are safe since they do not have any synthetic materials or chemicals. It is worn the same way as a tampon the only difference is that when it is full, one does not throw it, rather they wash and reuse it.

There are those ladies that are not comfortable with inserting products in the vagina. In case you are one of them then a sanitary napkin should serve you best. This is a product that sticks to the underwear and then worn. It gets hold of the blood and prevents it from leaking. Make sure that you read the package so that you can learn more about using this product.

The other option is making your cloth pads. These pads are fastened to the inner wear using a snap fastener. They have extra pads and can come in different colors, styles and designs. They are better because they are recyclable and do not have any chemicals.

All these are options that you can use when you have your periods. The better choice for that day depends on your days activity. For instance, if you are traveling, you need to make sure that you use a product that will not demand to be changed after every few minutes like the cup.
