The Proper Way Concerning How You Can Turn Down An Offer With Out Losing Your Job

By Bill Duggen

The moment a promotion is offered to an employee, a more secure and better-paying job is at stake. Despite the fact that a promotion will help one to gain better benefits, there are also certain times when one would need to decline it.

However, turning down such a great offer is actually quite difficult. One bad thing about accepting a promotion is that you'll have to leave your current team which is difficult if you've already established a family. It can also lead to a more challenging environment in which you are not sure you can handle and eventually can lead to losing your job if not dealt with accordingly. Therefore, you really need to think things through before making a decision to accept the promotion.

As soon as you?ve made your mind to turn down the offer, how would you do it without having to compromise your current job or position as well as all the other things and benefits that come along with it? This process is actually quite easy if you?ve been working with the company for some time and have developed a good relationship with its management. The company would simply accept any decision you make as you've already proven yourself through your years of service and experience with the company. You can simply reject the offer saying "I think its not time for me" and your boss can openly accept it.Should a relocation be involved in a promotion which you're not willing to take, simply turn it down by providing an explanation on how the relocation can negatively affect your current situation. A good idea for this tactic is to mention that you are having your kids in school and that having to relocate to another place would devastate them. Or ?That would really be a great opportunity for me to further hone my skills however I can't accept the offer right now as I can no longer tend to my sick son if I take too much time from that position.? and many more.

You can also decline a generous offer for a promotion by clearly stating that you are more productive and useful if you are on your current position. You can say "That's an excellent offer but I can't leave this position now. Specially when I now understand how to maximize production and performance with this job.?

You can also have a different approach in rejecting an offer by learning about the offered position and finding a way that the skill requirements does not suit you. To explain this to your boss or manager, all you have to do is be detailed as much as possible regarding what you do in the office and your key skills in maintaining that position. Compare the positions being pictured and in which position you will probably excel in.

The process of turning down a promotion is actually a bit challenging because it is out of the ordinary and it is simply trying to deny what your bosses want. However, if you would consider these tips mentioned in this post then you will have no difficulty doing so.
