Suggestions On The Way To Survive A Long Commute

By Bill Duggen

Great distances from home to work often lead to one stressful obligation - a long commute. The longer commuting hours you would have to endure only means that your destination is farther away. This is a daily routine that one must endure if he or she is really looking to make money or make a living.

Among those that you lose when you undergo long commutes would be the good night sleep - sleep without worries and sleep with your arms and legs stretched out over the bed. While at work, you will need to spend at least 8 hours a day and have the rest of your hours to your family and of course for the long commute which no longer leave you with enough time for sleep.

Having to undergo long commutes from work to your home is inevitable especially if you cannot afford a fast car that can take you anywhere you want to go in just a matter of minutes. The best thing that you can do in such a situation is to rest your body and body while also trying to keep everything active. So how exactly would you keep yourself busy during a long commute?

One thing that people commonly do in order to buy time when riding a bus home or to work is to read a journal or a book. By reading books, magazines or journals, you will be able to keep you distracted and can also gain new knowledge. At the end of your reading, you'd be surprised you're already at the bus stop.

Playing games on your phone or gadget can also be a fun and interesting way to deal with long commutes. Playing games or browsing pictures and videos on your gadget is not something that many people would do when idle but this surely is a fun thing and something worth doing during the long ride. To keep your gaming more fun and enjoyable, download games or apps related to sports or hobbies that you love to do such as basketball, drawing, serving as a waiter and others.

Want to make money on the time you are on the long commute? One way to earn good money even in commute is to write an article or a personal blog. Since your body is not doing any much activities during traveling, the mind can become very keen. In this case, writing an article would be the perfect thing. Topics you can write about may cover a lot of things like experience in doing long commutes, how to make money, what presents to buy for your wife in your anniversary, etc. Writing is not only a great way to do something worth while but it also opens doors to profits.

And of course, you can also do the conventional thing to do when bored in a bus ride home or to work - talk with others. As you take that long commute, you can also talk to your fellow passengers. I know this would require skill as well as enough confidence however it is actually easier than it would sound. The challenging part would only be to have a small confidence to ignite that conversation. You need to think of an interesting subject as well as a topic that both of you passengers can relate from. And again before you talk to that person beside you, check out his or her mood if he or she is in the mood for a talk.
