Starting A 24 Hour Hauling Business

By Catherine Ellis

We are living in an era where getting employment is almost impossible regardless of how well educated you are. The most common jobs available are minimum wage and require a lot of work and time yet the income are so much. With bills and family to cater for, one is forced to think outside the box and come up with a plan to make more money. One of the best options is to start your own business such as a 24 Hour Hauling business.

A hauling business is kind of like a delivery business only that you require a truck as most of the goods you are transporting are either large, bulky or in great quantities. It is a business that would be a breeze to open if you already have a truck. You will however have to change its insurance from personal to commercial auto insurance.

For instance, you could venture into a business that you have seen someone else excel in if theirs is the only delivery business in the state. Their business also needs to be overwhelmed with work and are not able to deliver for all their customers at a time. Then that is a business you can get into because you are sure to get work.

Once your research is conclusive and proves that starting the business in the state of your choice will be a lucrative idea, then you can get to the business plan. The plan will include the services you will be offering, how you will deliver on the services, your rates and the requirements to start the business. You will also need to include a marketing plan and do a projection of income with regard with your research showing when the business will break even.

Not only is the insurance important to your clients but it is also important to you as a business. If you have a personal cover and you happen to have an accident, the cover will not compensate the goods that are damaged or lost. This will then leave you to cater to the losses. Depending on what it was you were hauling, the losses can run your business to the ground and leave you in debt.

A hauling business is not an easy business to start with regard to licenses, permits and insurance. Unlike many business that require just one license and one or two permits with no need of insurance, a hauling business requires several so as to be certified as a proficient hauling service provider. First and for most all the trucks or vehicles used in the business need to have commercial auto insurances. This ensures that all the goods you are transported are insured and protected in case of an accident.

Once you have the money you require, the next thing you need to look into is licenses, permits and insurance. Your truck and any other vehicle you use must have a commercial auto insurance to protect the merchandise or goods of your customers. Some states require delivery trucks or those that are in the hauling business to have special commercial licenses or plates.

The main aim of any business is to make profit. You should therefore make sure that you have in depth knowledge of the industry before you set out on the business. This guarantees that you will not make mistakes that will be costly and sink your business in no time.
