While there are many promotional tactics that appear to be safe choices, some of these may not leave much of an impression on the recipient. Businesses that want to stand apart should consider thinking outside of the box but finding something that is congruent with the needs of the recipient. Many business owners are venturing out to navigate the many unique marketing giveaways that are likely to bring a return.

For many consumers, technology plays a large role in what they buy or pay attention to. Depending on the age group, the usage levels will vary but it is safe to assume that a young startup company that focuses on green technology will have little to no use for a cardstock desk calendar. Sending over coffee cups made from recyclable material may also be a waste of money and time.

However, this is not the case with all, as some still rely on paper products to run an office efficiently. While electronic reminders are nice, having something that does not have to be charged and easy to transport is ideal. What most office workers and few others like to have on their desks is something that is useful but does not take up a lot of space. Instead of having multiple highlighting markers floating around, having a single unit that fits in most pockets will be appreciated.

Ideas may also arise from alliances or potential partnerships that may be in development. One may look to a non competitor to reach a new audience or just get more details about a particular demographic. This can help in many ways, such as choosing new products that are certain to be fast sellers.

Whether alone or in a partnership, loss leaders can be especially effective if a bundle item is created for a limited time sale. Creating a sense of urgency and offering an incentive can present interest to customers that have been dormant or have a history of large purchases. Offering a discount on a future purchase is one of the most preferred ways to ignite interest.

One trend that is growing sales is event marketing. By creating an exclusive event that is reserved for those in a special group, like rewards customers, these can drive sales on items that are not yet ready for inventory removal. This method is also successful for approaching companies that are new to the area.

Online merchants may also benefit when it comes to clearing their inventory or finding out if prices were too high for a product. Advertising an incentive for visitors via email alert or smartphone app is a trend that has proven itself in short time. Whatever method is used, it helps a great deal when the benefits are stressed in a few words rather than relying on visuals alone.

There is a lot for a business to gain from having a giveaway that not only offers clients something to look forward to but can be a teaching tool. Some answers do not always lead to simple solutions, as more research may be required. A lot of business owners find that major changes may be necessary but are grateful for the numbers so they will know in which direction to turn.
