Many decades ago, people realized the value of having something to see them across rivers and other huge water masses. They later chopped down trees to act as bridges, and since then there has been an advanced improvement in these structures. Despite the ease of connectivity between people and places, many lives have been lost as a result of the total or partial collapse. The process of bridge replacement Houston can be costly, time-consuming and cause a lot of inconvenience to its users, but it is worth the hassle.

In most cases, bridges collapse due to strong earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes in some cases. Other unnatural factors such as deterioration, fire, lack of maintenance and improper design can be as well causes for collapsing. For construction to occur, engineers, managers, construction workers and other personnel must be highly competent.

Despite the amid praise mother nature gets for being loving and caring, she surely can be gruesome and cruel. For instance, floods and strong winds wreck an incredible amount of havoc when they encounter any structure for that matter. As they move from one place to another, they carry along materials such as boulders, heavy metal, and trucks. When these materials hit the crossing link, they cause it to be weakened and eventually collapse.

Earthquakes have never had any advantage to mankind, and they continue to cause significant damage whenever they occur. The foundation of the link usually is solid and can tolerate very harsh conditions. However, a powerful earthquake can weaken it and cause the whole structure to fall in minutes. If there were vehicles on the deck, they become moved in different directions, and the process collides with the bridge cables and towers causing wear and tear then falling.

Not every place has the same terrain and landscape. There are some which are very difficult to construct any structure on, especially bridges. However, with the advancement of the day in technology, there is no limitation as to how far engineers can go in building and construction. In the past, many bridges collapsed during the process of construction or soon after completion due to factors that could have been avoided

There are many designs and material types that are used in modern construction. As years go by, the materials used in construction are changing as discoveries for better options are made. Stone, timber, and steel are the traditional materials used each having its setbacks and value. Stone structures do not succumb to fires like timber and steel. When accidents occur, explosions may produce fires hot enough even to melt the strongest of steel this causes it to melt away together with vehicles and people in contact with it.

Building materials should be of good quality and quantity since when that does not happen the resultants will be mediocre and can easily lead collapsing cases. At the onset of construction, the lifespan is approximated, but if materials used are poor quality, then it deteriorates at an alarming rate hence collapsing when least expected.

In conclusion, certain catastrophic occurrences are inevitable. Thus, one needs to take precaution and be watchful for them. When it collapses, a lot of property is destroyed, people get appalled on both sides, a factor of interference in their ways of life. Laws enacted concerning construction should be adhered to for the desired safety to be upheld.
