Rattlesnake Control In Your House

By Douglas King

Snakes are deadly animals. Although most types of snakes are not poisonous, one may not know which type is poisonous and which is not. So, if you happen to deal with a snake in your home, you should avoid hitting it with a stick or broom. Instead, you should take necessary Rattlesnake Control steps.

Pest Control- Using regular pest control is a great way to get rid of garter snakes. Since the snake's diet consists of insects, earthworms, etc., controlling this pest would get rid of your garter snake problem. Also, the use of mothballs is effective when getting rid of garter snakes. Mothballs are toxic to your children, so you will want to take any precaution if you decide to use mothballs.

Cut out the food sources: Snakes have a select diet. They like eating little animals like frogs, birds, lizards and their eggs. Some with a feed on fellow and also smaller prey like insects and snails. The body size of the snake's will influence its eating habits.

A good natural way of managing mice that is more effective than using snakes is to encourage the presence of a barn owl in your house. It will feed on the mice in just a single night. Unlike snakes who will just eat one in a day and go to rest, these feed continually in that same night.

In the USA, there are four poisonous types of snakes: coral snakes, rattle snakes, copperheads, and cottonmouths. Rattlesnakes can be easily identified as they produce a rattling sound. Coral snakes are red, black and yellow. On the other hand, cottonmouths are dark, olive green.

Keeping the snake deterrent costs in control: Some people become so intent on ridding their property of snakes that they end up spending tons of money on ways to do this. One of the common approaches is with proper fencing. This is not a cheap snake control, especially if the perimeter of the property is large, and it isn't always effective. Fortunately, with modern technology, there is a much cheaper and highly effective snake deterrent.

Garter snakes prefer to exist in warm areas like the environment of a garden. This means you have to take great care when you go tou your garden sibnce you can easily encounter them. If they do not bite you, they sure as hell will scare you to death. The worst thing one can hope is to encounter a poisonous snake at his or her own home, this can be such a traumatic experience.

It can be very traumatizing to see a snake, especially one in a building. As noted, they are beneficial and a good rodent control method but if there is an occurrence of rodents then snakes may be near.
