Job Interview Tips: The Best Way To Look Sharp

By George Dodson

A lot of us these days grab any job opportunity that befall them. It's a way to make a little extra money to buy a few things that we want. At that stage of our life, most of us are not self-supporting. There are those among us that are still living under the supervision of our parents.

Most of the time, we want a job that pays good with not much work. As soon as you find your ideal job, you immediately submit your resume and hope that you can get an interview. Thus, how would you leave a good impression to your employer upon interview.

Your dress is practically the first thing that any employer would see in an interview. Always be mindful that there are those jobs that will need a decent outfit for work as well as for interview. If you're trying to apply for field work such as construction, mine, farm, etc then you can just put on casual wears.

If you resort for a suit on your interview then make sure it fits just right with your body. Make sure you wear a complementary tie. Interviews are an essential part of the application process and it is beneficial for you if you can make a good impression on the first meeting such as an interview. You should be able to showcase your best in this process.

As soon as you have the suit part worked out, it is time to focus your attention on the company you're applying a job to. You can never have enough research in this regard. Get as much information on you can about the company that you're doing an interview for. Know what the company is aimed at. Their brand should be something that you know easily. Know what they build or manufacture. What is the company slogan? Who was the owner/chief executive/other important people in the company?

Once you have done your research, you'll be able to answer questions regarding the company's info easily. You can include some of the information that you learned in the answers to some of the questions they may ask.

Of course, interview questions should also be something that you will need to research on. A common question in an interview is "why do you want to work with us?". As soon as you've formulated a great answer for this, try to incorporate the information about the company that you have researched. Another question that can pop out in an interview would be your strengths as well as your weaknesses. They ask you this question to get your reaction. Be prepared for it. Think about you would say. If asked about your weaknesses, try to think of those common weaknesses that others have so you won't have to be too hard up thinking of your own deficiencies.

They might ask you about your job experience. If you don't have other work related to the job then you can simply talk about your skills and how it would benefit the position you are trying to take. Try not to assume or make up information which are not based on facts. Be sure to talk only when asked.

Lastly, be sure to show gratitude at the end of an interview. You can also call back after a few days and thank the interviewer personally. The simple gratitude will leave a good impression towards work and will let them give you better chances in getting a work.
