When You Recycle A Tire What Occurs

By George Dodson

So many cars can be seen today. Tires are essential for all the cars. These tires come in all sizes and types. Some tires are for trucks while others are for smaller vehicles. After a certain time the tires wear out. When that happens you have some decisions to make. It is required to do something with it. The tire outlets generally take those tires off when you replace old tires. Sometimes, they discard them. Other times, the stores determine if there is tread life on the tires and put them up for sale to people who are just looking for a spare.

When a tire is recycled what actually happens?

Tires can be one of the largest sources of waste. Most of the states are dotted by large tire firms. It actually consists of thousands of tires. These tires are of little use. Most of the these tires can also be turned into "crumbs". These are mostly used as filler.

Most of the landfills do not want used tires. They can also trap large amounts of methane gas. It then becomes buoyant and rise to the surface. Most landfills have liners that keep the contents from damaging the groundwater in the area. Tires tend to spoil the process.

Research is done to figure out new uses of these tires. Ground up tires can be used as filler in landfills. This can also be used as a cap on landfills. The main convenience is that the tires can be shredded onsite.

Tires are also used in hot melt asphalt. These products are also used in replacing asphalt. Those crumbs are also used in certain kinds of concrete as a filler. Old tires are sometimes used by people in home and gardens. They are used to make flowerbeds. In the gardens the grindings are used as mulch.

Old tires are turned into gas fuel with the process of pyrolysis. The process of devulcanization is used to turn old tires into crumb. The material can also be used for creating new tires. It reduces raw material costs.

In this process the tires are heated in a huge vessel in an oxygen free environment. The rubber when gets soft breaks down into smaller molecules. These smaller molecules vaporize and leave the reactor. The vapors can be used as a power source by burning them. Most of the companies use this process. The process is used by companies to get a good source of fuel.
