Ideas For Corporate Promotional Gifts

By Shanna McNeil

For anyone starting a business, finding inexpensive options for corporate promotional gifts is a key marketing tool that should not be ignored. Whatever items are chosen by the marketing department should follow a few easy rules. By following simple steps, companies can get their business noticed without going out of business in the process.

Naturally, the logo of the business should always be prominently displayed. It is not useful to the company if those who receive the gift do not remember where it came from, or what service or product was being advertised. Preferably, it should be large, capitalized, eye-catching, and most definitely something they are likely to use each and every day.

The most successful gift will be something that the client finds useful on a regular basis. Even if the logo is particularly obnoxious, if it is an item they can use, then they will be more likely to overlook the garish nature of the logo. This means the logo will be in the consciousness whether they want it there or not, and this ultimately is the goal of advertising.

For office workers, tools of the trade which make good, inexpensive gifts are staple-pullers, staplers, organizers, and ink pens. Not only are these items which display a logo, but they are things they will not only use, but will see in their line of vision constantly. They are also things which can be given out to the employees of the organization.

Gifting to the office workers can be an important element of the giving. In many offices, the secretary or administrative assistant will not only be the first point of contact, but this is the person who often decides on what vendors or services to utilize. The boss is often too busy to deal with these details, and they leave these decisions to their support staff.

It helps if the gifts given are pertinent to the business at hand. For example, a hair salon may want to give out hair care products, brushes, combs, or even straighteners. A telephone answering service might consider giving out telephone call message pads, as a constant reminder that they need an answering service.

In determining how much to spend on a gift, it should be determined how much a client is likely to be worth in the course of a fiscal year. The greater monetary value of the client, the more extravagant the gift should be. In addition, for those clients who have paid out a large sum to the company over the course of the year, giving a handsome gift at the Holidays is a good marketing tool.

By following these few simple suggestions, corporate promotional gifts can be a great way to keep business rolling in. As a vendor, you want the company to be constantly reminded of whatever service that you are providing. When they discuss business issues with other associates, the vendors who remain most pertinent to their operation are the ones who will get the best word-of-mouth advertising.
