By Brenda Russell

Using detergents at home is a daily routine because cleaning is always a must do activity. Many people prefer using a solid soap and they might make it themselves at their home. During the making process, one might prefer making different shapes according to their preferences. Molding a solid detergent into a certain shape is an easy process since you are only required to use the detergent you already have. The following is a process of making a heart shape soap.

Organize your materials. Ensure that you have all the necessities required to obtain a good end product. This requires you to carry out a research where you get to determine the number, quality and the type of materials and products required to complete the process. Organize and arrange them appropriately. This step is important not only for quality achievements but also to ensure that the process is swift and fast enough.

The amount of glycerin you require. This is a very important requirement that you must ensure its availability before you start. It composes the most crucial composition of a detergent that gives it the best characteristic. Bear in mind that the equipment you use will highly determine the yield of your process. Glycerin composition prevents the drying up of the cleaned surfaces and also nourishes the skin of the user.

The melting step. In this step, you need to use any object that can cut the detergent you intend to use into small pieces. After cutting, put into a measuring cup which you are required to fill up. Put it into a microwave at a medium temperature where it will melt into liquid. This allows for flexibility of modeling into the desired shape. After complete melting, remove from the microwave and stir until you get a thick smooth mixture.

Addition of color. This process is also called coloration step. This is where you get to add the color as per your tastes and preferences. Choose the type of colorant you wish to use and add it appropriately to attain the color. You require to add the colorant and melt the mixture in a microwave for a given period of time.

Alcohol addition process. Pour the obtained mixture in the above step in an open pan. With this, you get to have a complete access of the whole surface of the detergent. There are bubbles that are contained in the mixture which to a great extent affects the quality of the overall product. Therefore, to eliminate these bubbles, spray the surface with alcohol. Bubbles are air spaces that allow spaces in a solid detergent which lead to breakages.

Hardening process. You need to harden your detergent to obtain the best quality soap as you wished for. Make sure that you know the conditions that are important to attain this hardness. Freeze the mixture at 25 degree Celsius for 10 minutes.

The processes of cutting the soap. The solid detergent obtained in the above step is put on an upside down position on a cutting board. This board should be heart shaped. Press the cutter gently to cut the solid into the desired pieces and store them as required.
