Parents often ask themselves how they could possibly send their children off to a foreign environment while they head off to work. The guilt begins to set in. They start to wonder what their little one is going through as they are sitting through meetings. They may begin to think about the teacher who is taking care of their child or the other kids, and whether their child is coping in the environment. Parents often feel guilty, leaving their 6 month old baby in a strange environment while returning to a busy job. In the initial stages it can be tough adjusting to the routine and the environment. However, teachers are trained to know how to cope with this. They are by nature, kind, compassionate and caring. At this stage, the child will be curious. They will want to learn new things about themselves, about others and about the world. Parents don't always have the time to answer constant questions or to provide them with activities. In addition to this, parents are not geared to know what activities to provide a developing child with. There are certain things teachers will provide a youngster with which will develop their creative side, their numerical abilities, their vocabulary as well as their level of confidence.

Children will also work in groups as well as in pairs. There are organized activities that take part in together. This will build up their social skills. Kids will also begin to socialize at random. Sometimes, they get to the classroom and they will begin to play together naturally. Often, these routines develop into a connection that form a friendship. This can be valuable and extremely meaningful.

Of course, parents also have a role to play during this time. It is important to encourage kids during the year. This is especially important in the initial stages when children are unsure of their surroundings. Kids thrive on routine, and when this becomes interrupted they will need to make adjustments. Kids may become upset in the beginning, but mom and dad will need to give them support and encourage them.

Besides the one on one contact, by working in groups, they also begin to see what it is to work as a unit. They will gain confidence in this type of an environment. Kids will gain group skills which is necessary later on in their life. Everyone needs to work as a team at some point in their live and this is the starting point.
