Think About These 3 Points Initially Ahead Of Giving Up Your Work

By George Dodson

With today's economic situation, a lot of people end up quitting their jobs to find another. If you feel that the job is not helping you further hone your skills or reward you in any way, it is not uncommon to quit your job.

You then start to question if this job is really what you deserve. Is this my only option? Do this exhausting job everyday and only have time for yourself on weekends?

You begin to feel that you're wasting your future over the wrong career choice.

Things should not be this way. There are those which made a decision to quit their job and focused on running their own business or pursued a more meaningful employment or job.

Before actually submitting your letter of resignation to your boss, you should first think of your decision carefully.

Initially, you must have a valid reason as to why you have to submit your resignation to your boss. Should you be having difficulties in achieving your goals in your job then it would be wise for you to resign.

You should also be understanding with regards to the present situation. Be precise on the things that you do not like in your job. Would it be because you like to manage things on your own? Probably you don't have the respect that you deserve? Or maybe because your job does not help you to improve your skills?

Because you're leaving your job you're not enjoying doesn't mean you'll get a better job. Understand if you're moving towards something that is more rewarding. Understand that having to leave behind a job which you no longer have interest in will not lead you to something better - it only helps you rid of your current state. Try to ask yourself if you are looking for a job with lots of breaks or free time. Do you like to take part in a company that provides you more authority or responsibility? Or maybe lesser responsibility? Would you like to work using your creativity? Something that is more complex? Try to be precise in the things that you want in your life.

On the final note, you should also devise a plan for quitting your present job. Action speaks louder than words as they say but it is also important that you think of your actions first. If you've come across a solid decision on where you'd rather be than in your job, be sure to plan a route which you can follow. It is essential that you finish this plan before leaving your job. Before leaving your job, look up new job openings which you want, find spaces for your business, write blogs, etc.

Through your plan you will have a specific goal to achieve after quitting your current job. This plan will then help you with a step-by-step strategy on how you can recover from leaving your job. Having a fixed plan will lead your actions to your set goals and can even help you find possible better opportunities. After which you have come up with a plan that will take you to better situation, you can then sign that resignation and hand it over to your boss with a smile.
