With the next generation of video game consoles fast approaching, I wanted to look into the yearly fees that certain gamers have to be subjected to time and time again. They can place a great dent in the bank account if someone isn't careful with how much they spent. Personally, I don't see what the purpose is of such fees but I know that they seem worthwhile to others. That being said, is it possible that collection services can help to attain the money owed because of this gaming region?
In particular, the most prominent subscription form is known as Xbox Live, which is tied into Microsoft's line of consoles. The reason that the price is set in place is because of the enhanced features in comparison to the competition, making it the supposed ideal way to play games online. There are also a slew of titles available on the marketplace, making it an even sweeter deal. However, does this necessarily mean that Xbox Live will prove itself to be the best during the upcoming generation?
It would be difficult for me to go against Xbox Live before but not until PlayStation Network came into the picture. Regarded as Sony's alternative platform by comparison, it has one feature going for it above Microsoft: it's free. Yes, you can sign up for the Plus premium but otherwise it doesn't cost you anything more than what you pay for the console. However, with payments having to be made on gaming, I can imagine that these online platforms would be tough to afford for some.
I don't know if there was been a case where a younger gamer has been open to paying up fifty dollars or so a year for a gaming service of this nature. This is perhaps the one group that I am concerned with as they will grow and, assumedly, continue to play. If they fail to make the payment, one has to wonder if collection services should come into the picture. Judging by agencies such as Rapid Recovery, they can be utilized if the problem becomes too great for an individual to solve.
Personally, I am excited to see what the future of gaming holds because it seems like the competition is going to be even more ferocious. I believe that there will be a great number of gamers that will struggle with making the best choice imaginable, too. Do they want a console that is more affordable or are they looking for substance as opposed to price? It seems like this is the kind of debate that will divide gamers as much as the conflict over which console is best.
