How To Keep Your House Germ Free

A lot of people think that the safest or cleanest place is a home. This notion will be dispelled once you swipe on some surfaces and look at them slide through a microscope. There are a lot of disease causing pathogens on different surfaces. How can you keep a germ free surface at home?

Keep a cleaning routine that will ensure that all areas around the house are covered. It is common for people to clean areas that are commonly used and visible. A routine ensures that you go through the entire house at least once a week or month. This will avoid accumulation that could eventually make your house a den for germs.

Dry all water and remove moisture from all corners and rooms in the house. Germs thrive in places that are damp. The presence of water also makes it easier to transfer these pathogens to other surfaces. Leave all surfaces and rooms dry. The pathogens will have no place to live and their numbers will therefore be reduced. Open the windows to allow free air circulation so that there is no accumulation. Light is also an effective way to fight germs.

Proper ventilation will kill most germs and pathogens. Germs hide in places where there is not light and are stuffy. Disturb this environment by ensuring free flow of air. This air also comes with heat that dries all the moisture that allows these germs to thrive. However, you should only allow circulation when it is not too dump. Using a heater will also perform magic.

Cleaning dusters, clothes and sponges should be disinfected regularly. These are materials used on dirty areas that are prone to disease causing microorganisms. If they are not disinfected, they provide a rich environment for germs to thrive. The cloths with then cause the spread of pathogens to other parts around the house. It means that the process of cleaning will only be spreading pathogens to other areas.

Keep the bathroom clean and dry. Bathrooms are prone to dirt because of the activities that take place there. Moisture accumulation makes the situation worse because the germs can thrive. The bathroom should be cleaned and disinfected to ensure that germs have no place to thrive. Open the windows to guarantee a clean environment. Further, take advantage of natural lighting to keep dry environment. Those taking showers in the bathroom will spread pathogens instead of leaving the area clean.

Clean your bedding regularly. Body secretions like sweat provide the perfect environment for pathogens to grow. If they are left on the bed for too long, they increase germ concentration. This means that you are more prone to diseases. Keep a dustbin in the room and empty it on regular basis.

Enhance personal hygiene so that it extends to your immediate environment. This includes cleaning your toothbrush, taking a regular shower and attending to your nails. Learn how to wash your hands thoroughly after ordinary activities to avoid spread of germs to other areas. Lack of personal hygiene turns you into the source of diseases and pathogens.
