The world is full of opportunities. A wise man once said that the bread is not for the wise neither is the battle for the strong, but time and opportunity comes to every man. Those who see and capitalize on great business opportunities end up being millionaires. There are also billions of employment opportunities in the world of commerce. Getting a degree in marketing is not an easy affair. One will have to study for 4 years and to undergo attachment. A graduate might even have taken an extra step and pursue professional certifications. Such a graduate will be very marketable. He will easily get a job with a handsome salary. With a degree, one will start as a graduate trainee.

Academic qualifications are necessary. There are also other qualifications that increase the chances of being hired. In the modern day technologically enhanced workplace, one needs to be tech savvy if wants to get a job. Knowing how to operate a computer is not enough. One should also be competent in a number of marketing software and web based tools.

The way one communicates will determine whether one will get a job. The reason for having an interview in the first place is to determine how one expresses himself in words. An employer will hire someone who eloquently expresses himself and is confident. Some employers will insist on hiring people who have exemplary writing skills. One should improve his communication skills.

Despite all the qualifications, an important issue is how one presents and markets himself. That is where a CV comes in handy. This is simply a summary of all the qualifications that an individual possesses. At the top of the resume, one should indicate his personal details followed by his academic qualifications. One must also indicate past working experience.

With the dawn of computers and internet technologies, it was long thought that IT skills were the most highly demanded skills. However, that is not the case. The hottest selling skill in America is marketing. Even IT companies need to have marketers. Creating the best computer program in the world will not automatically translate to sales. It is the marketers who will have to sale the benefits of the software.
