Blogging To Become A More Prolific Writer

By Tennant Neil

Blogging is a great way to get your message to the entire world. You can blog about your favorite subject or you might come up with the internet's next viral site that everybody will talk about. It's easier than ever to get started, here are some tips to get you on your way.

Make sure that you have SEO friendly themes, plug-ins and templates. This will allow your blog to load very quickly. The faster something loads, the more people are going to be willing to look at it. If a page takes to long to load, more than likely a visitor will just close the page.

Make sure that you are productive with your blog. Do not allow yourself to waste your time watching television, or playing games when you could be doing things to make your blog bring in more visitors. When you are using a blog to make money, you are going to have to put the work hours into it.

Structure your posts so the reader can simply scan them to catch the gist. Those who read blogs are, as a rule, an impatient bunch. They flip back and forth between pages practically at the speed of light. If you want to get your message across, give them something that will catch their attention with just a quick scan.

Have images and graphics within your blog posts. Pictures are so much more powerful than words; the old saying about pictures' worth compared to words proves it. This is especially true with blogging. You want people to be interested enough to read your post and also get an idea of what the post is about before reading the entire thing. This is why you should include images as often as possible.

Make sure that your blog is unique. Unique content will draw readers. Posting difficult to find information will also do wonders for your blog. Talk about unusual and interesting events and experiences. Describe the construction of a widget in excruciating detail. The point of this is to provide your readers with a reason to check you out when they are looking for information.

Refrain from using blog designs that are similar to MySpace. This means using extremely busy designs that have too much content on your screen, too many animated graphics, etc. Having these busy designs makes it extremely difficult for your readers to read your blog. As a result, they'll likely leave.

Keyword Research: When blogging, you have to know what people are searching for in a particular niche. What keywords are they typing in? With these things in mind, perform keyword research and put the relevant keywords in your blog. This will make your site highly visible in the search engines for the top performing keywords, and this results in you getting a big boost in traffic.

Majority of the traffic that your site will receive is going to come from search engines such as Yahoo, Google or Bing. Knowing how to use SEO tools is going to help you to have a higher ranked webpage which will bring in more viewers. You will know how to use the correct keywords and where to place them for the most success.

Make friends with other blogs that relate to your target niche. You can post useful comments on these blogs, and this will help promote your own blogging as well. Besides providing comments, some blogs will allow you to make guest posts, as this can be mutually beneficial to both of you.

Inspired yet? These suggestions should get you thinking about setting up your own blog. You can offer opinions, entertain the world or promote your business. Give a bit of thought to your direction, choose your tools, and don't be afraid to experiment. Have fun and learn along the way, and you'll enjoy blogging success in no time.
