Once the it has been stopped and you are safe to go in, check and account for the damages caused. If the property is totally damaged, keep off. In this case where the house is completely destroyed, receipts become important whether it is of the hotel you eat at or the mall you shop at.

Ensure you are okay and let the concerned department extinguish the fire. Use your phone or borrow from a friend to contact your insurance company. Allow them to explain how the claim can be filed and the possible deadlines if any.

While talking to the company, get reactions. Understand from them what the claim is and if you are covered or not. Describe to them the items that were lost and do not leave any detail out. The money given will not allow buying from an expensive shop as all this will be deducted from your total.

At this point, the firm will give you with their representative to talk to. This direct kind of communication is paramount and eases work. If you forgot inclusion any information, this is where you include them. Any account, item or detail omitted should be added. Tell them what happened and any piece of information that might have been omitted.
