Social Wifi Router Configuration

By Johnny Ruhaul

First off I would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the last year or so especially for our retail, restaurant & other similar customers who have joined/subscribed to our social WiFi program.

It has been a great success over the year for our company and I do hope for yours as well by capturing all of those new social media customers. When we first spun off from our corporate print/branding company we didn't think many of our customers would select our gold & platinum packages but you guys did and I want to thank each and everyone again. For those of you who aren't familiar with our gold & platinum social WiFi & corporate branding packages these packages include a combination of full corporate brand design, corporate print marketing material, digital market/search engine optimization or search engine marketing and of course our popular social WiFi package.

When you receive your hardware please review the package and make sure the box has not been crushed oropened. Please take a picture of the box prior to opening it and contact us ASAP. The first thing you should do is open the box, read the quick start guide which goes over the ports and the configuration. If you ordered your own hardware from another vendor we will email you your access code and firmware and instructions to upgrade the firmware for the social wifi sensor or hardware. If you ordered a bundled package from us the firmware will already be preloaded and tested in our social wifi environment.

For logistics and shipping for our social WiFi hardware the majority of our products or I would say at least 60% of them have been shipping from our distribution office in Canada. Many customers are asking which product is the most popular and which is the most low cost maintenance. From what we've seen the TP-link wireless router has been a very popular social wi-fi enabled sensor. I would say 60% of our customers have been ordering these and they are mostly retail and restaurant businesses that are roughly 800-1000 square feet in size.

Make sure the router is connected to a live and open internet connection ,Switch 'OFF' the router, after 10 seconds, Switch 'ON' on the router and press the mini reset button repeatedly and rapidly until the 2nd light (star light) from the left on the front of the router starts flashing rapidly, Stop pressing the Reset button. After 60 seconds the router will reboot itself with its new settings from our cloud server restoring it to working order. This should work with all or most of our social wifi hardware enabled routers.

If your not going with a wireless site survey, the next best thing to download is a free tool such as meta geeks free tool that will show you your RSSI and SNR strength. Your threshold for RSSI should be around -70 to -75 and SNR always above 25.
